Terms of Service

Last updated: August 13, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the booking and participation in cycling trips and experiences (“Trips”) organized by South Dust Rides SAS, a company incorporated in Uruguay (“South Dust Rides”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a Trip or using our website southdustrides.com (the “Website”), you (“you”, “the Participant”) agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully — they include important limitations of liability and an assumption of risk.

1. Definitions

  • Trip: the multi-day supported gravel cycling experience described on the Website, including the 6-day Punta del Este edition (March 21–27, 2027) and any future editions.
  • Booking: your confirmed reservation of a place on a Trip.
  • Total Price: the full price of your chosen package (shared or single room), in US dollars (USD).
  • Deposit: the non-refundable amount payable to confirm a Booking, equal to 10% of the Total Price.
  • Balance: the remaining amount after the Deposit.

2. Booking and payment

2.1 A Booking is made through the Website by selecting a package and paying the Deposit. Your place is confirmed only once the Deposit is received and we send you a written booking confirmation.

2.2 Deposit: 10% of the Total Price is due at the time of Booking. The Deposit is non-refundable except where these Terms or the Refund Policy expressly say otherwise (for example, cancellation by us).

2.3 Balance: the Balance is due no later than 10 weeks (70 days) before the Trip start date. For the 2027 edition, the Balance is due by January 10, 2027. If you book fewer than 70 days before the start date, the Total Price is payable in full at the time of Booking.

2.4 Late or non-payment: if the Balance is not received by the due date, we may treat the Booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation charges in the Refund Policy.

2.5 Prices and currency: all prices are quoted and charged in USD and are payable online by card through our payment processor. You are responsible for any card, currency-conversion or bank fees charged by your provider. Prices are per person.

2.6 Places are limited and confirmed in the order Deposits are received. We may operate a waitlist when a Trip is full.

3. What’s included and excluded

3.1 What is included and excluded in each Trip is described on the Website (“What’s included” / “What’s not included”) and in your booking confirmation. In summary, for the 2027 edition the Total Price includes six nights’ accommodation (March 21 to 26, check-out on March 27), all meals, on-bike nutrition, support vehicle, mechanic, guide, ride photos and video, and return transfers between Carrasco Airport (MVD) or your Montevideo accommodation and Punta del Este, for you, your bicycle and your luggage.

3.2 The Total Price does not include, among other things: international flights, accommodation on the nights of March 20 and March 27, travel and medical insurance, bicycle (unless a rental is separately arranged), personal expenses, and anything not expressly listed as included.

3.3 Bicycle rental is arranged with third-party providers and requires advance coordination: tell us when you book so we can agree size, model and price in good time. Any rental is a separate contract between you and that provider, on their terms and price; we coordinate it but are not the supplier and are not responsible for the condition of the rented bicycle.

4. Eligibility, health and fitness

4.1 The Trip is an intermediate-to-advanced cycling experience covering approximately 550 km and 7,300 m of climbing over six days. You confirm that you are in good health and sufficiently fit to participate, and that you have no medical condition that makes participation unsafe.

4.2 You must be at least 18 years old to book and to participate.

4.3 You must inform us in writing of any medical condition, allergy or dietary requirement before the Trip. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary needs but cannot guarantee all requirements.

5. Insurance (mandatory)

5.1 Valid travel and medical insurance is a condition of participation. Your insurance must cover cycling activities, medical treatment and emergency repatriation, and we strongly recommend it also covers trip cancellation and curtailment.

5.2 We may ask you to provide your insurer’s name and policy number before the Trip. We may refuse participation, without refund, to any Participant who cannot demonstrate adequate insurance.

6. Assumption of risk and release of liability

6.1 Cycling on gravel and open roads carries inherent risks, including falls, collisions, mechanical failure, traffic, weather, terrain, remoteness and injury. You participate voluntarily and assume these risks.

6.2 You are responsible for riding within your ability, wearing a helmet at all times while riding, obeying traffic rules, and following the instructions of our guides and staff.

6.3 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you release South Dust Rides SAS, its owners, staff and partners from liability for loss, injury, damage or death arising from the inherent risks of cycling and from your own acts or omissions. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence).

7. Bicycle and equipment

7.1 You are responsible for arriving with a roadworthy gravel bike (or a rental arranged with us) and the required equipment listed on the Website (helmet, lights, cycling kit, shoes, bike computer).

7.2 We provide mechanical support and labour throughout the Trip. Spare parts and consumables are not included: if your bicycle needs parts, they are charged to you at cost. You are responsible for the general condition of your own bicycle and for arriving with it in good working order.

8. Code of conduct

8.1 We want everyone to have a safe, enjoyable week. We may, without refund, remove any Participant whose behavior is unsafe, illegal, or seriously disruptive to the group or staff, or who rides under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

9. Changes to the Trip

9.1 Routes, itinerary, accommodation and services may change for reasons of safety, weather, road conditions, availability or events beyond our control. We will always aim to provide an experience of equivalent quality. Minor changes do not entitle you to a refund.

9.2 The distances, elevation and route files published are indicative and may be adjusted.

10. Cancellation by you

Cancellation by you is governed by the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Cancellation or changes by us

11.1 Each Trip requires a minimum of 10 Participants to operate (maximum 15). If the minimum is not reached, we may cancel the Trip and will notify you at least 8 weeks before the start date.

11.2 If we cancel a Trip (for minimum numbers or force majeure), you may choose between (a) a full refund of all amounts paid to us, or (b) a credit toward a future edition. This is our maximum liability for cancellation and we are not responsible for incidental costs you incur (e.g., flights). We therefore strongly recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover.

12. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, fire, flood, epidemic or pandemic, government action, strikes, war or civil unrest. In such cases we will offer, where possible, a rescheduled date or a credit, and any refund will be net of unrecoverable third-party costs.

13. Image rights

By participating, you agree that South Dust Rides may take photographs and video during the Trip and use them for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not wish your image to be used, tell us in writing before the Trip and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with a Trip is limited to the Total Price paid by you for that Trip. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

15. Complaints

If something goes wrong during the Trip, please tell our staff immediately so we can try to resolve it. Any complaint not resolved on-site should be sent to info@southdustrides.com within 28 days of the Trip.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, and the courts of Uruguay have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
